These terms are the contract between you and Ivan Aleksandrov Naydenov (cardigani) when you use cardigani.app. They are written plainly on purpose; nothing is hidden in the length.

cardigani is a web application for arranging index cards on an infinite board: writing on them, moving, resizing, rotating and connecting them, and saving arrangements to a library you can reopen.
It runs in a browser. It requires an internet connection and a Google account to sign in. There is no offline mode and no installed application.
Sign-in is through Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that Google account secure; anyone who can sign into it can reach your decks.
One account is for one person. You may use it on as many of your own devices as you like.
Your content stays yours. You keep every right in whatever you write on your cards. You grant us only the narrow, technical permission needed to store your decks, render them back to you and include them in your backups. We claim no licence to publish, display, adapt or exploit your work, and we could not — the product has no mechanism to show one person's deck to another.
You agree not to use cardigani to store or distribute unlawful content, to attempt to reach another person's decks, to interfere with the service's operation, or to circumvent the limits described below.
We may suspend an account that is doing one of those things. Where we do, we will say which one.
So that one account cannot exhaust a server shared with everyone else, the following apply. They are set far above ordinary use — you should never meet one.
60 saves per minute · 5 MB per deck · 4 MB per board snapshot · 1000 decks per account.
If these ever bite in normal work, that is a bug in the limit and not in you. Write to support@cardigani.app and it will be raised.
Prices are shown on the site inclusive of any tax that applies to you, before you are asked to pay.
The 7-day trial. You give a card when you sign up and are not charged for seven days. On the eighth day the first payment for the plan you chose — monthly, yearly, or the one-time lifetime licence — is taken automatically, unless you cancel first. The exact date and amount of that first payment are shown to you before you confirm, and again in your account.
Cancel at any time during the trial and you are never charged. Cancelling is a button in your account; you do not have to write to anybody, and it is not harder than signing up was.
The subscription then renews automatically for the same period until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.
The subscription renews on the same day each month or each year, depending on the plan you chose, until you cancel. The lifetime licence is a single payment instead of the subscription, with no recurring charge. See *If cardigani ends* below, which says plainly what that word can and cannot promise.
Payment is taken by Stripe. We never receive your card number.
Your statutory right of withdrawal, how you waive it if you want access immediately, and the refund we offer beyond the legal minimum, are set out in the Refunds and Withdrawal policy, which forms part of these terms.
Under EU law (Directive (EU) 2019/770 on digital content and services) we owe you a service that matches its description, is fit for the purpose such a service is normally used for, and is supplied with the updates needed to keep it that way. That guarantee is not an optional extra and nothing in these terms reduces it.
If the service does not conform, you may require it to be brought into conformity, and where that fails or is not done in reasonable time, you may have the price reduced or the contract ended. Nothing here affects your rights against us under the law of your own country of residence.
Beyond that guarantee, the service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and — except where the law does not allow us to limit it, including for death, personal injury, fraud, or our own gross negligence — our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You can export everything, at any time, without asking us. *Export my data* produces a zip holding every deck as JSON, with the full text of every card, plus every board snapshot. This is deliberate: leaving should not require our cooperation.
What we do with personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
You may stop at any time: cancel the subscription from your account page, or delete your account outright, which removes your decks immediately.
We may end the contract for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or if we cease to offer the service. Except where a breach makes it impossible, we will give 30 days' notice, and during that time export will keep working so you can take your decks with you.
If we end a paid contract for any reason other than your breach, we refund the unused part.
This section exists because the word *lifetime* deserves an honest answer rather than a footnote.
A lifetime licence is for the lifetime of the service, not of the buyer, and no one-person software business can promise otherwise without lying. What we do promise is this: if cardigani is discontinued we will give at least 90 days' notice by email, export will keep working throughout, and no lifetime licence holder will be asked for money to retrieve their own decks.
Your decks are plain JSON and your snapshots are plain PNGs. They are designed to outlive us.
Each version is dated, and the version you agreed to is recorded against your account. We will notify you by email of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not accept them you may end the contract and, for a subscription, receive back the unused part.
These terms are governed by Bulgarian law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts.
Complain to us first — support@cardigani.app. Most things are a misunderstanding and are fixed the same day.
If we cannot resolve it, you may contact the Commission for Consumer Protection (КЗП), 4A Slaveykov Sq, Sofia 1000, Bulgaria — kzp.bg, or the equivalent authority where you live.
The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform is not listed here because it stopped accepting complaints on 20 March 2025 and closed on 20 July 2025. Pointing you at a dead service would be worse than saying so.
